Marma points are specific vital points in Ayurveda where structures like muscles, vessels, ligaments, bones, and joints intersect, believed to act as gateways for the flow of prana (life energy) and to influence organs and body systems when gently stimulated or protected from injury. In classical teachings there are commonly noted 107 bodily marma points (with the “mind” sometimes regarded as a 108th), and they are used in marma therapy through light touch or massage to balance energy and support well-being.
